I am not sure if the reading in thermometer at Western bypass was correct when it showed 45 degrees. I had a good morning running some errands in a cool car, so I didn't pay much attention to that number. Then.
I woke up to the reality when I came home and found my men in the garden wearing almost nothing. Little One was rushing around the sprinkler, naked, and the Big One didn't have much else than swimming trunks on. He was working with his laptop and made a hilarious sight.
After taking the very dry laudry inside I let myself slide in to the heat of the afternoon. I felt sorry for husband, who by this time was fully dressed and on his way to the office. Me and Little One had some juice and coffee out in the verandah. We let the cookies crumble to the floor and watched the ants have a feast. I was too hot to stop Little One when he decided to color his toenails red. 'Look Mommy, they're red, just as aunties' toes!' Sure, they are red and they stay that way for a while. That marker doesn't come off easily, I've learnt.
