Kotirouva ilahtuu ja ihmettelee

Täyspäiväisenä kotiäitinä ilahdun täällä jatkuvasti siitä, että

- tuoreita kukkia kasvaa omassa pihassa ja niitä saa maljoihin
- edellä mainitut kukat tuoksuvat huumaavasti kun päivän kuumuus ja pöly on laskeutunut
- ihmiset tervehtivät ja pysähtyvät rupattelemaan
- ruoka on hyvää ja marketeista saa tuoreita ihania kasviksia ja hyviä lihoja. Ylipäätään kaikkea mitä toivoa voi.
- ravintoloissa saa törkeän hyvä ruokaa suht edullisesti
- upeita sisustustavaroita, kankaita ja muita tuotteita saa edullisesti kaupoista ja suoraan tuottajilta.
- että ei tarvitse arpoa, mitä tänään puetaan

...ja ihmettelen, että

- pienimmänkin asian hoitamiseen menee matkoineen pari tuntia
- Hiluxit ja Combi-taksit vaikuttavat aina olevan etuoikeutettuja, tulivatpa mistä suunnasta tahansa tai minkä värisen liikennevalon takaa tahansa
- verhokoukkuja on vain yhtä mallia ja verhot eivät niissä pysy (ainakaan jos haluaa avata ja sulkea niitä)
- vaikka kuinka luutuaa, hiekkapöly on tunkenut tiensä joka paikkaan seuraavaan iltaan mennessä
- Kaupan A maito happanee matkalla kaupasta kotia mutta kaupan B maito ei. Kaupasta A saa vain täysrasva-maitoa ja kaupasta B myös rasvatonta
- Kaupassa A pakasteet ovat sulia lähtökohtaisesti mutta lihatiski priimaa
- Kaupassa B ei live-lihatiskiä ole, mutta pakasteet ovat umpijäässä
- Kolmen edellisen kohdan seurauksena on käytävä molemmissa kaupoissa (vrt. kohta 1 ihmetyslistassa)
- Oma ekologinen jalanjälki jättää tuntuvan painauman, halusitpa tai et. Kierrätystä ei täällä harrasteta.

Housewife’s Joys and Sorrows

As a stay-home-mom I am constantly delighted by the fact that

- our garden hosts most beautiful flower bushes and I can always get those flowers to the table
- the flowers mentioned above spread the most beautiful scent after the dusk, after the dust has fallen down
- people greet you and want to share a few words
- juice, food and fresh veggies are excellent both in the shops and in the restaurants
- one can get pretty decoration for your home from shops or from the makers themselves
- one doesn’t have to spend ages to think what would be the smartest thing to wear today

But I also have to wonder the fact that

- It takes at least a few hours to run even the smallest errand
- Hilux and Combi-taxes always seem to have the right of way. No matter from which direction they come from or weather the robot is green or red
- one can hang her curtains in one way and one way only. That way doesn’t really work if you actually want to open those curtains
- the dust takes over in matter of hours - no matter how often one cleans the floors
- milk from the grocery shop A goes bad before you reach home. Milk from grocery shop B stays fine for days. From the shop A one finds only full-fat milk. From the shop B one also finds fat-free milk.
- in the grocery shop A all the forzen goods are melted. But luckily they have a superb meat department that sells cold meat.
- in the shop B they don’t have a meat counter but they do keep their frozens frozen.
- because of the three facts above one needs to visit both grocery shops ( see the first dash in this chapter)
- one quickly learns the actual size of one’s ecological footprint. And the sight of that is not pretty. There is no such thing as recycling.
